The best way you'll find out is by researching yourself. You shouldn't purchase anything if you don't have a clue about the product.

Hey EmAzy, you said you were a Network Administrator Specialist in your profile. Then you shouldn't have problems researching and studying for info on your question. As I know it took me a long time, around 3 months to prepare and pass the exams for my CNA and MCSE cert, so I'm pretty sure you're used to doing research.
Once ya find out though, why don't you let the rest of us know, including myself because when it comes to current Pentium architecture, I have to admit that I'm behind the times. (And perhaps a bit biased.. go AMD!) :D

well i did my p4 research and not yet on thoroughbred coz their not out yet.
for me ill get the
sis 645dx or sis 648 dx chipset
or intels new chipset that will support 533.
and im thinking of getting asus's new mobo with those chipset, they have the 645dx released already.
also the only reason why i posted this is to get other people's idea on what they think that is good not like i dont know what im doing.

It dosen't matter if T-Bred isn't out yet. It's the same bloody thing as an XP, except with a smaller die. As for the P4's, your "research" into the matter is going to be in vain, as you know the 533 will be out soon. The current P4's architecture, plus RDRAM is already on the chopping block as we speak.
So, if you know what you're doing, then why not wait a few more weeks. As far as I know, the P4 2.4GHz is the last of Intel's core that will be at 100MHz FSB. And if you've been doing your homework, the advantages of the P4 going to 133 plus quad speed is tremendous.
So why don't you just save your money for that? But wait, you already knew that.
As for me, don't listen to me because I know nothing.

Well I'm kind of in the same boat. I'm building my own P4 system and I am not sure what motherboard/chipset to buy. From what I've been able to find out so far, any board with the 645DX chipset is faster than a board that uses rambus.
I haven't been able to find out any info on the 648DX chipset other than it's going to be released sometime in June. Intel has a few new chipsets coming out that look killer. What I'd do if I were you is get a 645DX mobo and just upgrade to a new mobo later on because no matter what you have now it will most likely be "old news" within a few months :D

Something else I forgot to say......
I'd suggest getting everything but a mobo, processor, and RAM. By the time you buy everything else new motherboards will be out

No P4 with 133 FSB will be coming out. amstel78, if I'm not mistaken, was talking about performance gained by overclocking the Northwood to 133.
Lol amstel, go AMD!
EmAzY, maybe these pics of the thoroughbred(0.13 micron) will make the decision easier for you.
AMD Thoroughbred
