Default Need help with AHCI @ ASRock FM2A88M Extreme4+

Hello there,

I have trouble with the ahci mode at my mobo FM2A88M extreme4+.
In BIOS there is the Option "AMD SATA AHCI" set to "enabled". But windows device manager shows at controller "AMD Sata Controller" ...nothing with AHCI.

I have tried two SSD (Crucial m4 and Samsung EVO 840) at this mainboard and checked speed with AS SSD Tool. Always it shows "ide mode".
There is the last amd driver package installed (from amd website) and operating system is windows 8.1 64bit.

Any ideas for solution?

Greetz

I have both M4 SSDs and a Sanmsung EVO SSD installed in AHCI mode. Device manager reports "Standard AHCI Controller" installed. When I added the Samsung as my C: drive, I re-installed Windows 8.1 with the bios in UEFI mode and AHCI enabled. I am using windows drivers and everything is blazing fast. You may have to install the OS again to get the performance you want. It really depends on which drive is the boot and how it was formatted when the OS was installed.

Thank you for your answer.
I solved it allready by set "AMD IDE support" to disabled. After reboot ahci modes works perfectly.
