G'day all, my first post here.
I'm fairly new to modding/building computers, and would like to know more about the psu. Anyone have any helpful links they'd like to pass on?
I found a Codegen 450watt psu cheap at a swap meet. How do I know what sort of cpu (intel/amd) it's suited for?
Cheers,
/m1nt

Generic, Generic,
Looking at this for my next upgrade piece. Some voltages look strange with MBM.
Guess I need to pop the case and take a peek

i wouldn't go for Codegen, they are making cheap and very bad PSUs. some of my friends got some bad experience with Codegen PSUs. from not so expensive ones i'de recomend FORTRON (FSP GROUP), they are quite cheap but good. hmm for something more expensive Sirtec (or Chieftec) HPC-360-302DF or HPC-420-302DF they are for about 60$ and 80$ in Poland. i've got the 360W model for about 1 year, works flawless, good voltages even with overclocked cpu.

Antec true control 550
didnt think £100 for a power supply would be any different to a £5 one but cant fault it tweaked all the rails to 3.3, 5 and 12v when o/c ed and they never move, yet to hear the fans go into full pelt ,cant fault it well happy with it

Originally a Windy 350W (rating at load) HEC OEM'ed PSU on my Soldam MT-Pro1300. No problems with an Athlon 64 3200+, Radeon 9800 Pro and WDC Raptor 36GB RAID0.
Put in an HEC-525 VD-T on it now though, just to burn it in.
