I was only half thinking when I wrote the previous post. I did increase the voltage. At 4.4GHz I was at 1.30V. I increased voltage by .025 until I reached 4.8GHz at a voltage of 1.375. It is still running cool at 110F (about 43C).

Default Correction on previous post and update

I was only half thinking when I wrote the previous post. I did make another significant change, I increased the voltage. At 4.4GHz I was at 1.30V. I increased voltage by .025 until I reached 4.8GHz at a voltage of 1.375. It is still running cool at 110F (about 43C).

Yesterday I increased the speed to 4.9MHz. I made this increase with only one change, I increased the voltage to 1.40. The temperature doesn't appear to have changed.

It appears to be stable but I intend to stay at 4.9MHz for about a week to insure it remains stable. It's quite hot here now so if it doesn't crash I believe all is well at this level.

Gus

Did you run any benchmark tools to ensure it's stability?

Default Benchmark question

I used to run quite a few benchmarks and burn ins on my overclocks but haven't down this for some time now. What I do now is use the computer for a week and if it doesn't crash after a week of my normal usage I consider the overclock stable. As it's only a day since I reached this overclock level I don't consider the overclock stable yet. But, after seeing your post and question I did run a Sandra "Burn In", one time, and it didn't crash.
Attached is the current CPU-Z result of this overclock.

I presume you are not using the original cooler.

Default answer to question

No. I'm using a Corsair Hydro H100i cooler in a Cooler Master HAF-X RC943-KNNT.

Default update

Stayed at the 4.9GHz for a week. I'll now say it's stable as it's been quite hot here all week
I tried 5.0MHz today, first time I've ever tried to reach 5.0. I finally made it. See att. CPU-Z. I didn't increase the voltage as I normally do, left it at the previous overclock of 1.4V. I'll run it for a week, still hot here. If it doesn't crash even one week I'll call it stable. I have a little leeway left in voltage as I see some overclockers were going to 1.45V with this chip, but, I'm quite satisfied to stay at this level if it proves to be stable.
I didn't do anything special here, didn't show any above average overclocking ability, just did a straight multiplier and voltage increase. I do believe the Asrock board is a major reason for this overclock. Great board, never thought I'd buy one from Asrock. Have almost always used Asus boards. For many years I've been reading that some chips come off the line with incredible overclocking ability. I've never gotten close to receiving one of these, The chips I've gotten through all these years have enabled me to achieve only the overclocking level of what most overclockers reached. I may finally have one of these. But, I'll know when "a lot" more overclocking levels for this chip are up put on the overclocking sites.

Default CPU-Z table for above post.

For some reason my CPU-Z table doesn't show in the post. I must g=have done something wrong. Trying again here.

Default Update

One week at 5.0 GHz, no crashes/blue screens. I believe I can go a little higher than this but am going to leave it at this speed for a few months. I'm quite happy to have reached this level. I also don't want to push it with the heat we have here now.
