Very good review Bluetooth... thenk you very much.
Except for the strangely low score in PCMark 2004, the chipset seems to be an excellent preformer. I made some calculations and, probably, if you clock the NF4 boards @200Mhz like the SiS reference board, scores of the SiS 756 may be >= of the ones of NF4 Ultra.
And even with 200 Mhz FSB SiS 756 maneges to surpass NF4 Ultra in one or two tests.
Very good.
The only real problem now is the availability of this chipset in the market... you mentioned only four producers: too few!!
Asus is good, ECS may be good (if they don't fail the design of the board as they use to when the make the first release ;D) but are usually quite slow to deliver boards to the market, PCChips is a B producer and Foxconn is nothing to rave about (and it is difficult to find).
Asus and ECS... I hope they will not be the only ones. Also no mention for ASRock: this make me REALLY REALLY sad :( (((
Bye!

Let sum up the test conditions:
- No bios versions listed
- No driver versions listed (chipset)
- Sis 756 & NF4 use 2.5-6-3-3 memory settings
- Ati & NF4u use 2-11-2-2 memory settings
- All use Geforce 66.93 driver except the NF4u that uses the 63.11 driver
- Doom 3 ... run at a resolution that is too high for testing motherboards, it should be lower so the videocard isn't a bottleneck
How plancton72 can call this a good review ... ?
U just used your old reviews and only tested the new board (like always). So the review is inaccurate. Newer bios or drivers influence can't be messured.
Second thing, u only test synthetic and game benchmarks. How about application, usb, ide, serial ata, sound, ... performance.
This review is at best mediorence.
The review quality is slipping big time.

Wrong! SiS 756 is tested at CAS 2, 5-2-2. What do you expect. retest every single board again. I do not have so much time for that.

Did you know that the PCMark2004 benchmark sucks?
It will tell you that a P4 is faster than a Athlon64. What a great benchmark.
You shouldn't take it seriously and consider using real applications like WinRar, ...
