Give the 2508 bios a try. Most stable yet and the fastest IDE performance with mem performance just behind 2312. Don't use with Rev1.2 if using onboard audio...

OK ,

Ive just ordered my 8k3a and Chaintech Ti4600. I didn't go with the 8k3a+ because I intend to use my SAnta Cruz. There was no other difference I saw in the specs.... or is there?

KCHIP, 8k3a+ Rev1.2 also has a raid chip, which I use, along with the 6 channel sound which I don't use.

The "+" adds RAID and a diagnostic LED.

Rev 1.1 adds 6channel audio.
Rev 1.2 adds 6channel audio with SPDIF.

Started off with the K7S5A and an Athlon XP 1700 with 256 meg PC2100 DDR. Learned a lot about FSB and multiplier overclocking and system stability issues. I got tired of losing the CMOS and wanted to OC at 166 mhz so I bought an 8KHA+ from a friend who was upgrading to the latest EPOX MB. Running the 8KHA+ at 166 FSB, mult 11 with the same DDR and processor as was in the K7S5A. I decided to run the K7S5A with standard 133 FSB 24/7 on the UD distributed processing application.
I'll keep OC action to the 8KHA+ for now.
