Default ECS KA3-MVP Issue

Hey blue if you still got some pull with ECS see if you can get them to release another bios for the KA3-MVP cause apparently you can not run a PCI-E 2.1 video card on it, well sorta can't.

The issue started when I deiced to upgrade my video card from a ATI 3850 to a ATI 5830. I can the the 5830 to work in the pc but I can to make any changes to the bios cause when I do the pc will not post. The only way to get the pc to post is by clearing the cmos then it boot into windows with no problem. I can run 3d games with no problem or hiccup at all. But the bad thing is I loose my Agere E1310I Gigabit LAN controller port for some reason cause windows does not detect it. If I reboot I have to clear the cmos to get the pc to post. Mine you PCI-E 2.1 is suppose to be backwards compatible and as XFX said it should work in my pc but I need a bios Update to get it to work. At the moment I can not afford a new motherboard or new graphics card do to the fact that if I return this card I will not get my all of my money back due to restocking fees and such.

I know this motherboard is 3-4 years old but I really had no problems with it I just want a newer video card that can handle today's games with out a hiccup. So like I said if ya got any pull could ya please with sugar on top have a talk with one of your contacts and see if you can get it resolved cause I am pretty sure I am not going to be the only one with this issue.

Yeah... its wat lostinms told... this ECS board (ka3 mvp) with the latest bios on the website http://www.ecsusa.com/ECSWebSite/Pro...uID=21&LanID=0 dont work well with the new cards(maybe because of the vga pcie 2.1 on pcie 1.X slot)... the point is, only the first boot with CMOS reseted works(via jumper or software), and gives me a checksum error in this first boot(but its not the battery)... "If I reboot I have to clear the cmos to get the pc to post", only once... and needs to keep reseting forever to get the pc to post... I found another user with exactly the same problem, but i dont know if he knows that reseting the CMOS he can boot(i dont read all the posts), only once off course... http://forums.amd.com/game/messagevi...hreadid=126567 There is a way to ask the ECS to make a little fix on this? :(
