Default Transcend ESD230C a Portable SSD for Type-C Android Phone (Sony Xperia XZ Premium)

Hey guys, check out this ultra portable SSD – Transcend ESD230C. It is using SuperSpeed USB 3.1 Gen 2 interface with UASP support and built-in SLC caching technology. Able to achieve exceptional transfer speeds of up to 520MB/s. Whether you are using your Android phone as a game console, as a multimedia database or simply to take a lot of pictures, most of us will at some point want to connect our device to something else via USB. Does ESD230C really can connect to a USB Type-C phone to expand the storage? Let’s find out together…

Package Content & Design
Just like other Transcend’s products, ESD230C comes in a well-protected packaging too. Besides ESD230C, two cables are included, a USB Type-C to Type-C cable and a USB Type-C to Type-A cable. So that you can accommodate desktops and laptops featuring the USB Type-C or USB 3.1 interface. In the box you can also find quick start guide, warranty card and product brochures in the box.

The SSD comes in a solid plastics housing. Furthermore, the reflective black case has anti-scratch coating that last long and stylish.

It’s a credit-card size SSD that fits perfectly in a wallet. Slim enough to fit it into your wallet while on the go.

Here are the one-touch-backup button and USB 3.1 Gen 2 port. Note – it needs free Transcend Elite software to backup.

In addition to desktop and laptop computers, the ESD230C can also be used with many other devices, such as on-the-go mobile devices and gaming consoles, providing ultra-fast transfer speeds and extra large capacity expansion. Let’s try it on a Sony Xperia XZ Premium Android phone, which comes with a Type-C connector and OTG function.

First we connect the ESD230C SSD and the phone with the USB Type-C cable. The blue indicator light on the SSD starts to blink. The Transcend SSD was recognized immediately and I’ve got 240GB external storage in a minute. You can use your system file manager App or download Transcend Elite App to back up or transfer the files from your phone.

Transcend ESD230C is a slim, compact and lightweight portable SSD no doubt. This tiny little device was indeed the seamless hub for secure storage of Type-C devices. If you have a USB Type-C device and plan to move content an external storage, then the ESD230C is a godsend.
