Hostname resolved into ip of another PC
Hi,
Encountered a weird situation here.
Static IP of PC1: 192.168.1.248
Hostname of PC1: PC1
PC2 is DHCP.
No DNS server on the network. Just a SMB type of fiber router, Draytek 2910 to be specific, to do all the work.
In the router, the IP is mapped against the mac address of PC1, so PC1 will always be assigned IP 192.168.1.248,
On top of that, it is manually configured on PC1 as well.
Now, PC2 is getting dynamic IP.
Let's assume the ip assigned now is 192.168.1.10
Sometimes, when pinging PC1, the result will be PC2's assigned IP, which is 192.168.1.10
This will happen intermittently to random PCs.
C:\>ping PC1
Pinging PC1 [192.168.1.10] with 32 bytes of data:

Reply from 192.168.1.10: bytes=32 time=1ms TTL=128
