Default oc problem mb dfi am2,sempron 2800,ram ddr2 800 geil

well hi to everyone on the forum

mainboard is dfi infinity am2
pr sempron 2800 8x multiplyer
geil ddr2 800
ht bus setting at 2x,or 3x
tried upping voltages for ,ht ,chipset, vcore no efect whatsoever
this is what happens ,if i,m using memory dividers i cannot overclock beyond htt 270 no mater what ,i think it,s the memory but i am not certain ,the memory at ddr2 800 (1:1 ,cpu\5)2,1 v goes up to ddr 930 ,5 5 5 18 stable ,htt reaches 290 ,if i use ddr 667,533 or 400 i cannot go beyond 270 stable ,it used to be even worse max htt 240 until i have increased the vdimm (the only thing that helped for reaching higher htt ),0.1 steps ,the higher the voltage the higher the htt i could reach ,but now i am at 2,1 v for 270 htt using dividers ,what is it ???????why whitout divider 1:1 it goes up to 290 and certainly more ,but memory tops out ????

Hey, I am having almost the same problem...Cannot pass 266 HTT, no matter what i try...Memory is Supertalent 2x 1GB T6UB1GC5 @ 667, which is set to run in the BIOS @ 667 and due to memory divider runs stable @ 850 5-5-5-13 @High Setting (don't know exactly in Volts)...So i guess memory is not my problem, since it has potential...

Perhaps the cpu reached its max HTT for the voltage fed by the mobo...How high is the actual Vcore?

Guys, don't you considering that overclock from FSB 200 to FSB 266 / 270 is fairly good overclock?

And usualy the memory is the limit. In my case, it is a DDR(1) and it never go over 233Mhz stable, so I have the ram divider at 166 to clock the ram down, so I can run the FSB up at 280Mhz

Real ram clock = (FSB x ram multiplier) / 200

(280 x 166) / 200 = 232Mhz

Sure it is fair good overclock...I am not going to stay asleep if i don't manage to pass that....
I set my memory to DDRII-400 and set latencies manually to 5-5-5-13-19-2T...loose enough...Increased HT to 271...stable...tried orthos for about 9 hours...Memory divider is now /8...seems that the auto memory latencies ruined my O/C...271 better than 266 !!!

Klau try selecting lower memory speed from the BIOS to get bigger memory divider....use manual settings for the memory timings...so as to exclude memory top-out....If u still can't pass your max HT, u may need to increase Vcore somehow....I am searching for a voltmod for my mobo too...

Good find Felix. I don't use Auto on any board. I only leave an option that way if I haven't a clue what it does.
