Does anyone know if the asrock Wifi takes a PCI space?
|
It plugs into it's own 2x6 or 2x8 pin header on the MB...

Note: To connect ASRock WiFi-802.11g module to motherboard, please plug ASRock WiFi-802.11g module to the WiFi or WiFi/E header* (black) on the motherboard. (The location of the WiFi or WiFi/E header may vary on motherboard models. Please refer to your motherboard manual for the motherboard layout.) To check which model supports ASRock WiFi-802.11g module, please click here.
The WiFi header comes in WiFi (2 x 6 Pin) and WiFi/E (2 x 8 Pin) designs respectively, but to plug the ASRock WiFi-802.11g module on it, please align the module connector to the left hand side of the header.

In the picture of the ASRock ODE790GX-WiFi in post #1, it
looks to be located in between the bottom two PCI slots and
is a 2x8 pin (WiFi/E) style...

Edit:
From looking closely at these picks, it seems to me that you
will loose the use of any PCI card that is in the slot above it...
Notice that it has an "L" bracket style mount to secure it to the
chassy using one of the MB Mounting screws and the I/O coaxial
connector will end up right where the PCI card would be...
