LG4081B initially, 4x writer on most media until a firmware upgrade, then could write pretty much anything at 8X! Good silent drive which I rarely had coasters from (except when trying to do too much at the same time or used naff media).Went for this because I use DVD-RAM quite a bit.

Then added a Pioneer DVR110D (as above) bit noisy, and build quality is surprisingly poor for Pioneer. Still does the job with no coasters as of yet.
Finally went for another LG, this time GSA-H10A. One again good build quality and near silent operation, and just a low hum at 16x.

I stick with verbatim media which I get for good prices at aprmedia.

Plextor 716A - works flawlessly and is worth amount of money I spent for it

LG GSA 4166 -dual layer-lightscribe- fast - reliable
minor cons mainly no bitsetting on +RW , i donot need :)
