Default FM2A88X-ITX+ firewire card in PCI express slot?

Does this board support any PCI express card?

I bought a firewire card from amazon and upon boot it's like the board doesn't even recognize it's there. I notice in the documentation for the card that it only says up to Vista support.

I also notice that in the mobo documentation it only references graphic cards in the PCIE slot.

Before I make any returns or anything, i just want to verify that this mobo would even support a non-graphics card in the PCIE slot.
