939Dual-VSTA + AM2CPU board + Brisbane?
I've read the thread created by the wingit and I'm curious whether anyone on the forum runs such configuration. As far as I know Windsor (fully supported by the MB) is a better choice in view of the performance (except the power consumption).
My next question is: could this motherboard with daughterboard run upcoming Barcelona (more precisely dual-core incarnation called Kuma)?
And the last one: can we expect a newer official BIOS version for 939Dual-VSTA?

No one came forth when Wingit's thread was active to say they could run a Brisbane on an AM2CPU board and I haven't seen any posts in the forum from anyone stating they had that configuration.
Since it appears that the 939Dual-VSTA/AM2CPU board does not support Brisbane, it's highly unlikely that it will support a newer processor.
It's been quite some time since the 939Dual-VSTA has been manufactured. I'd be very surprised to another bios release from Asrock.
I guess anything is possible, but only Asrock can answer those questions for certain.

Thank you Snoopy for the answer.
Honestly, I can't understand the policy of the AsRock: 939Dual-VSTA is not old (was released last summer) and the official BIOS dates from October!
I wonder what is the reason of the Brisbane issue? Comparing the CPU support list (939Dual-VSTA+AM2CPU board) to the article http://www.xbitlabs.com/articles/cpu...ficient_2.html
it seems that Vcore isn't a problem.
Btw, AM2XLI-eSATA2 MB based on similar chipset (Uli M1697) supports G revision. Interesting that 939SLI-eSATA2 (on the same chipset) with AM2CPU board doesn't support Brisbane.

Ocworkbench, sorry but I don't know: you talking about Brisbane or Kuma (official or unofficial BIOS update)?

Ok, thank you for the reply but still the question is open: Brisbane or Kuma?
Btw, maybe you know what was(is) the reason of the Wingit problems?

It will be interesting to see if it works. Wingit could not flash his board with the beta bios because his Brisbane could not boot the system and he didn't have another processor to install to do the flash. No one that I know of has posted confirmation that the beta bios will actually provide Brisbane support for the AMDCPU board. It will be good to have a member that can confirm it. Good luck!
