When I watch a show, I dun really care what the newspapers says, besides, every newspaper and magazine gives different ratings for the same show, so which should you believe??
I watched it, and feel that it's worth $8.50. Thats my opinion and I do recommend that people who likes to see nice realistic special effects as well as learn a bit of history at the same time can go catch it.

Haha... Tony, so you managed to read ALL the newspapers and ALL the zines and catch ALL the entertainment news on TV, Radio ALL over the world??
Can you tell me how FM95.8, FHM, 8 Days, I-Weekly, ZaoBao, rated Pearl Harbour.
I only read the reviews on Straits Times and FHM, guess what, both give different views and ratings. So which should I believe?
Everyone has different taste on movies, and this INCLUDES the film critics.
If a critic loves mushy romantic shows, they will give poor ratings for action/horror movies. It all depends on their SUBJECTIVE opinions (BTW, I am also subjective). If you choose to believe in some crap review, then just be prepared to waste some $$.
I am not saying that Shrek is not a good show though, I will only comment if I have the time to watch it.

Well,i got a chance to read some newspapers in the world, noticing that pearl harbor receive bad votes from them.Again, people who watch it also say same thing.I guess that you unable to see flaws which does not fix in the storyline well unknowingly.
For Shrek,i watched it already and TNP said that graphics designers took 4 years to make this moive.
Lastly,i don't read chinese newspapers.

As I have said, different people have different taste, and if you BELIEVE what the critics says, then you will EXPECT the show to be bad. In such situation, no matter how good it is, you will pick out the little bad points and using these points to argue that a show is bad. I have seen this happen many times, when I discuss some movies with my frens. Sometimes, you will miss out all the good stuff if you concentrate on looking for the bad things.
It is all psychological effect, for me, I try to watch a show with an open mind, I never expect a show to be good or bad base on other people's SUBJECTIVE opinions or the show's prequels.
Many people says that Star Wars Episode 1 is not good, but to me, I think it's quite ok since the show is meant for audiences of all age groups (especially kids). Maybe it's not as good as the previous star wars movies, but I dun make comparisons, I prefer to judge the show on it's own merits.
