Default CMOS BAD? Abit AT8 32x

Long story short.

I have an Abit AT8 32x(opteron 165) that will freeze after a couple hours of up time. I can successfully run memtest86+ with no troubles for 24hrs. But after rebooting from memtest it will not POST. I have to reset the CMOS to get into windows. Windows will randomly freeze and I need to reboot again no post. reset the CMOS and it will run for a period of time again. This is just with the video card in the system.

I am tempted to just can this thing and upgrade to an intel core 2 duo 8500. Any ideas?

those are old specs in the signature

If memory serves me correct. That board defaults to 1t (command rate). Maybe try loosening your mem timings & bumping your mem voltage a little.

I had about 25,000 hours on mine before I sold it to a friend who still uses it as a server. He also is using an opti. Sounds like it may just be a bios setting that u may have overlooked. The board runs great once set up but can test your patience.

Good luck.

Purchased a used asus a8n32-sli deluxe. Freezing issue is resolved, but it appears I'm back in time with irq issues on the a8n. It never ends....thanks for the response =]
