Not true.. they have better overclocking features compared to most ECS boards & have decent 3 phrase power circuit(unlike other ECS boards). Features wise they are quite good too.

i use an Iwill DK8SL (dual Opteron) as my development box at work, just recieved the DK8X.

at home, i use the Iwill ZPC temporarily until the iMax is available.

i "used" to use an Abit board (KT7-Raid) until the capacitors blew up on me

I have an MSI K7N2G-ILSR, its a great board, not many MSI votes so far? it beats my old ECS board, but at 3x the price, it should.

I am not rich inaff to buy cheap motherboard.

I have 2 Abit boards and 2 Epox boards
(Abit: 2 x NF7-S v2.0, Epox: 8RDA+ and 8RGA+)
