A few years ago VIA were up there with the big boys, and to be fair still do supply a good many chipsets to motherboard manufacturers. But to the likes of us they're nowhere now. There might be a lot of hype about how good the VIA products are but in comparison with the opposition VIA need to restart with a clean sheet.

ATI - from what I have heard about individual clocks for both CPU and RAM - this must be the chipset to have.

nVidia from me since the NF3/NF4 is such a good OC'ing chip but the NF4 runs too hot.
