Gorar's Athlon 64 Optimiser
There is this chart named above which shows different combos to use for OCing after you input your specs. Some of the combos it suggests I have found on my own, so this chart works quite well. Here are the first 3. My question is the last figure is listed as "Lower is Better", does anyone know what this value (in red) is ? Maybe latency? If so, why is the 3rd example so much higher even though the ram is clocked higher?
HTT ---CPU ------------------Memory ----------Hypertransport --------(lower is better)
264 11[/b] x 264 = 2904 3:4, 150, DDR300 = 193.6 (DDR387)3 x 264 = 792 1.8086
264 11[/b] x 264 = 2904 17:24,141,DDR283 = 181.5 (DDR363)3 x 264 = 792 2.8134
260 11[/b] x 260 = 2860 5:6, 166, DDR333 = 204.28 (DDR409)3 x 260 = 780 7.4055
Well after some testing it is latency, and yes running 10.5 multi did lower the latency but why?

It could be a timing issue with the memory controller and the RAM - this is why I always try to run the cpu and ram synchronously, as I won't know if my async settings hit a hole like you found, and actually degrade performance.

Good way to go if you want to play it safe. But at the same time, you might discover a perfomance boost instead of a memory hole. Never know unless you try.
