Default M1 vs starhub vs Singtel iPhone 6 price plans

5 things you need to check and compare before purchasing your new iPhone 6/ 6 Plus. They are none other than price, plans, data bundle, free outgoing minutes and VAS provided and which is the cheapest of all!

Singapore’s 3 telcos are collecting orders for the iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus. Today, Starhub and Singtel announced their price plans to match M1’s.

Below is a chart we have consolidated for the different price plans based on monthly subscription. The prices do not include 7% GST. Information is based on charts shown on respective websites.

The cheapest plan is M1’s I-Lite at S$645 for the handset and a S$28 monthly subscription. The data bundled is also 200MB more than SingTel’s Combo1 plan based on 24 mths subscription + upfront cost of the smartphone.

As for the S$41-42.90 mid range plan. M1 and Starhub is offering 3GB of data which is more attractive than SingTel’s. When it comes to total cost of ownership of the iPhone 6 16GB, it is $1509, $1537.60, 1547.60. M1 again offers the better value for money.

For the higher end price plan M1 I-Reg, Singtel Combo 3 and Starhub 4G 4, it is $1749, $1837.60 and S$1764.60. It is a close match between M1 and Starhub both offering 4GB data. Starhub offers 350 minutes outgoing whereas M1 is 300mins. In terms of price, M1 again reigns over the competitors.

The most expensive plans are M1 I-REg+, Singtel Combo 4 and Starhub 4G 5. For iPhone 6, it is $2029, $2057.60 and $2054.60 respectively for the total cost of ownership. M1 again has the best price among the three Telco.

M1 also offers a free calls to 3 M1 numbers which could save you tons of money if you call your nominated family members or friends whom are using the M1 network.

If you are not in a hurry, you might as well wait for better bundle deals with fibre broadband or TV deals at the year end computer show. Alternatively you can sign up multi service saver or Hubber to get more discounts over the monthly subscription.
