I've problem running K7S5A and USB WebCam in WinXP. I tried philips ToUCam Pro 740 wich is normally detected by XP but after 2 or 3 minutes using it , it freeze.I also tried to installed a Fuji 2600 camera as webcam but installation reboot suddently my computer. I tried to disconnected all other USB devices and even use a powered usb hub but nothing change.
I'm using latest bios and USB SIS Patch.

Have you any idea ?

What kind of PSU are you using? Perhaps adding a camera might be too much for a potentially strained power supply to keep up with.

Give some details on your current setup, and I'm sure you will get some helpful advice.

Give details on:

BIOS date
Board revision
PSU
CPU
Any added peripherals you're using
etc..

Thanks Amstel. I don't know a thing about USB and have the same problem as Yop Solo, but in Win98. My PSU is slightly under the minimum high standards and whenever I get a problem it's PSU related. Kodak said the USB bandwidth is too wide to keep a steady detection of the web cam. Since this isn't a real common problem it makes more sense that it's because of a power supply that's too weak.

thank you for all this rsponse.

My bios version is the last official bios

My PSU is certified for Athlon and P4 (and i don't think it's the probleme because i plug the camera in a powered hub to test and it's the same)

I applied latest usb patch from sis

i have some other peripherals on USB but i check the cam alone to test it and it doesn't work)

USBMAN recommend to buy a USB PCI Card !!

please help
