Default ConRoe945G-DVi Crossflash works...

I just though I'd confirm what I thought; the ConRoe1333-DVI/H R2.0 BIOS works fine on the ConRoe945G-DVi, which has an identical PCB and components. My board has an A2 stepping 945G chip too, so I shouldn't imagine there will be any difference in terms of overclockability either. That said, I can't see what extra features the 1.20 1333 BIOS brings over the original 1.80 BIOS (unless it has a different strap for a 'real' 1333 CPU)... I don't know if the DVI card will now support HDCP, since my monitor doesn't, but I did test to make sure the DVI output card still worked for anybody who cares about that (I don't use the onboard graphics at all normally.)

I'll post some screenies tomorrow, not very exciting though.

Here you go...

Flashed with AFUWin 4.11 with the option "Do not check ROM ID" ticked.

And how is that with 800fsb CPU (E2140,60 \ E4300,44)

Is this also fixed that they hang with only 20-25 decrease of FSB speed??

e.g. 200 --> 230

I would like tot buy a E2160 and let it run at 266 to 300 fsb,
is that do-able with the conroe133 bios or does it also clocks only around 10%??

thanks for the quick replies

Overclocking on the FSB 800 strap on these boards is hopeless! None of my C2D E4300 (which is known to do 3GHz on stock volts), Pentium E2160, and Pentium D 925 will go an inch over 222MHz on that strap with any BIOS (be it ConRoe945G or 1333.) Must try a BSEL mod next, since I can't be bothered to try my E6320... Too much hassle with changing HSFs around.

I tried the BSEL mod on a E2160 and I succeeded. It run now stable @ 2900mhz (321FSB). I haven't tried to flash the bios to Conroe1333DVI/H 2.0 yet, because all bios are NOT 4.11 version.

Who can give me the Asrock CONROE1333-DVI/H 2.0 BIOS 1.20 or 1.30
The problem is that now at 1333 fsb te PCI-E clock runs at 125, I think that with the 1333-DVI bios it runs at 115 mhz (source: asrock.nl)

***** U P D A T E *****

I took the bios from the DOS download, it works, I now have an "1333" board.

Still when I select Sync to PCI-E at 333, the PCI-E goed tot >130,
but Asrock said that at 333fsb the PCI-E clock would be 115???

I now set manually everything to Async at 322 and PCI-E 117

Orthos is running now, pretty stable after 15min;

fsb @ 325 crashed after 5min (PCI-E @ 115)

Does it help tot raise the PCI-E to 120 or is it bad for data (corruption)

I have a conroe DVI board too, what it would happen to my board if i crossflash it with the Conroe1333DVI/H 2.0? will it kill it?
i read about it here but i am unsure what would happen.....

Any confirmation would be apreciate , oh at least i`am back here great!
