Benchmarking

We conduct the a number of tests on the setup with the following configuration :

Test System:

• AMD AXP2700+
• Epox 8RDA+ running 2 x 256M DDR400 in Sync DDR333 CAS2,2-2-5
• Maxtor D740X-6L ATA133 7200RPM
• AOPEN 40X CDROM 
• Gigabyte GV-R9500pro, Catalyst 3.0
• Chaintech GF4Ti4600, Detonator 41.09
• Channelwell 375W AMD Approved PSU 

Quake 3 Demo 001 1280x1024x32 Anti Aliasing and Anisotropic Filtering

From the benchmarks, we see that both cards are scoring almost the same scores when both are not in any high quality modes. (The first 4 scores). The Radeon9500pro operating in Optimal Performance is merely 4 fps slower than the GF4 Ti4600. When we set it to Hi Quality and Optimal Quality, we see that the scores are halved to around 100fps. Comparing it to 4xAA on the Chaintech GF4 Ti4600, it seems that the Gigabyte MayaII Radeon 9500pro is a good performer.
