Visual Radio

At the Nokia Connection, there is a demonstration of Visual Radio. Visual Radio allows radio listening to be interactive. Radio broadcasters can create and publish parallel interactive visual content to complement its traditional FM Broadcast. The listener with a Visual Radio enabled mobile device can tune into the station and simultaneously view and interact with visual delivered to the phone through GPRS.

Singapore's MediaCorp Radio FM 98.7 is already delivering information through this platform. If you have a Visual Radio equipped phone, you can now tune into the mobile contents provided by 98.7.

Future developments include delivering the radio streams digitally. That will definitely something the operators are looking forward to.
