ASUS P5K3 Deluxe (Intel P35) mainboard review - DDR2 vs DDR3 @ 1333MHz

Benchmarks -  DDR2 vs DDR3 @ 1333MHz

As we have mentioned in the previous page, the tests is done by overclocking the QX6700 CPU to 3.3GHz (334x10). This is to see if a higher CPU CLK takes better advantage of DDR3-1333.

From the chart, it is not difficult to see that running at DDR3-1333 only give a better buffer memory benchmark result of 5% lead over the DDR2-1066 at C5. The CAS Latency of 7 on the DDR3 might be one of the reasons it couldn't boost the performance any higher.

Nevertheless, we see some minor difference in scores with DDR3 winning some and losing some to the proven DDR2.

One thing to note is that whether you are running at DDR2-1066, DDR3-1066 or DDR3-1333, all these settings are not really running in SYNC with the CPU. My opinion is always run memory in SYNC with the CPU CLK.
