Benchmaring of the processor on ASRock AOD790GX/128M AMD 790GX/SB750 Mainboard

In this test, the 3GHz processor is paired up with a ATi Radeon HD 4850 graphics card. The system used 2x1GB DDR2-1066 memory running at CAS 5, 7-7-24, 2T. The BIOS used is 1.25. The processor runs at 15x200Mhz =3GHz.

In the following pages, we will compare the performance of this processor 940 cross referencing performance of the Core i7 and QX9770.

In 3DMark06, the CPU paired with 2X1GB DDR2-1066 at C5-7-7-24-2T is tested. The Deneb core AMD Phenom II scored 12650 marks for this test. Using a Core i7 running on Gigabyte X58-UD5 with 3GB DDR3, it scored 13183 marks whereas on Intel QX9770 on a ASRock P45XE-WIFI board gives a score of 13112. Looks like the Phenom II X4 model 940 still isn't a match for the older generation QX9770 at 3.2GHz.

As for 3Dmark Vantage, the CPU running on ASRock AOD790GX/128M with 2GB DDR2-1066 scored P7240. On a core i7 system, the same HD 4850 scored P7766 while on a P45XE-WiFiN with QX9770, it scored 7112. Looks like the Phenom II X4 940 (3GHz) is able to outperform the QX9770 in this test.  Intel Core i7 still outperform the Phenom II X4 3GHz
