Review Conclusion
of
ASRock P45R2000-WiFi Intel P45
chipset mainboard review Conclusion
ASRock P45R2000-WiFi is an interesting board we tested based on the Intel P45+ICH10R chipsets. In our test, we were wondering if we were really testing an ASRock board. This board doesn't look like the familiar ASRock boards we have tested in the past. It has so many features on board that makes it a top notch board in the league of the 1st tier board makers. Features like Dual GbE, Realtek ALC890B audio, 1394, WiFi/AP, eSATA. These are some of the features that you would see on the expensive ASUS boards are now available on the P45R2000-WiFi. One thing that is probably lacking from this board is those energy saving features like ASUS's EPU. If not, judging by the feature set and the functionality of this board, it could well be as good or even better than the 1st tier boards out there. In
terms of Performance, this board performs pretty well when we pair it up with
DDR3 modules. As the board supports up to DDR3-1333. The QX9770 (1600FSB) cpu
actually runs the memory at a 2:3 ratio. Thus the modules actually clock at
DDR2-1200 instead of 1333. It uses ram timng of C7 -7--7-20-2T.
In conclusion, this board serves the needs for those who require P45 performance and CrossFire in future. It has a lot more than the basic features that most users would require and priced at an affordable price against the competitor products. There are also variations of this board with slightly different model names. BIOS used : P1.20. For beta bios, please visit http://my.ocworkbench.com/bbs
