Introduction
Lately, we have been flooded with review requests. In fact, there are a number
of manufacturers requesting review on the AMD 790GX boards. One of them is
BIOSTAR.
Today, we take a look at the Biostar variant of the AMD 790GX+SB750 mainboard.
AMD 790GX+SB750 needs no further introduction as most of our readers have
probably read a lot in our forums and news.
Basically, this board supports all range of AMD AM2+/AM2 Platform with up to
140W AMD Phenom X4 , X3 / Athlon /Sempron processors. This board supports
Dual-Channel DDR2 -1066/800/667/533 memory. For overclockers, this board
supports the AMD Overdrive utility for better control of the parameters of the
board in overclocking.
The board comes integrated with ATI Radeon HD 3300 DX10 integrated graphics with
on Board 64MB DDR2 Side-Port memory. It also supports ATI Hybrid Graphics
Support and Superior scaling with ATI CrossFireX technology with Dual PCIe x 8
slots.
The board also comes with integrated HDMI/DVI interface with HDCP Support 1080P
HD Video Experience. In terms of expansion, it has In terms of storage, it has 6
x SATA2 3Gb/s Connector supporting SATA RAID 0,1,5,10, 1 x IDE Connector. The
South bridge also supports 4 x USB 2.0 Port + 3 x USB 2.0 Header. There is also
integrated Realtek RTL8111C - 10/100/1000 Controller and Realtek ALC888 8+2
Channel HD Audio.
