Review : Introduction
to SUPoX AP45+GTR Intel P45 +ICH 10R mainboard with Q-SSD feature

Introduction
The Intel P35 chipset took the market by storm last year. We see them almost
everywhere. One thing lacking though on the P35 is the support of higher speed
processors, DDR support and PCI Gen 2 support. Although higher FSB speeds are
not officially supported on the P35. We have seen numbers reaching beyond
500MHz.
The Intel P45 is slated to debut around Computex 2008. With this new north
bridge, will it be able to do better than it's previous generation chipsets?
Perhaps.
Today, we take a look at a rather interesting design from SuPoX. This
AP45+GTR as it name implies is a P45 chipset mainboard with a ICH10R. This board
supports all
45nm/65nm Socket LGA775 for Intel Core 2 Quad processor, Intel Core 2 Duo processor E8000/E6000/ E4000 series
with 800/1066/1333 MHz front-side bus
The board will have 4x 240-pin DDR2 SDRAM DIMM sockets. it supports up to 1.8v DDR2-667/800/1066 DIMMs with dual channel architecture.
It also support single-sided or double-sided, non-ECC, DIMMs with 256Mb/512Mb/1Gb/2Gb
devices with a max of 8GB of system memory
The board comes with two PCI connectors compliant with PCI v2.3
One PCI-Express (x4) connectors compliant with PCI Express 1.0a #1
One PCI Express (x16) connector compliant with PCI Express 2.0a #2
One PCI Express (x8) connector for extra PCI-E VGA in GLI (Graphics Link
Interface) mode #3
(#1: The PCI-E X16 Slot works in PCI-E X4 Mode
#2,#3: Two PCI-E X16 Slots may work in PCI-E G2 “X16+X0” or “X8+X8” Mode )
In terms of expansion, it has 12 USB connectors compliant with USB2.0 from embedded USB controller (6
connectors at rear panel). SATA wise, it has six S-ATA II ports with up to 300MB/s bandwidth from ICH10R, Support intel
Matrix Raid 0,1,)+1,5 (AP45+ GTR).
Two SATAII port with up to 300MB/s bandwidth from enhanced JMB363, Support JMB
Raid0,1. There is also a PATA channel supported by the Jmicron controller
JMB363.
Something unique about this board is the
Q-SSD/ CF Card conenctor on board. It provides 1 CF X266 port with up to 54MB/s bandwidth for DIY SSD / HDD, Q-SSD is SUPoX
Features
There is also one Gb Ethernet from Realtek RTL8111B(Colay Rtl8111C) PCI-E (x1) controller
